Description
Human menopausal gonadotropin, which is the primary constituent of Humog 75 IU Injection, is obtained from the urine of women who have achieved menopause. It is used to treat male and female infertility. It is also used in combination with other hormonal medicines for in vitro fertilization and assisted reproduction procedures.

Allergy

This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known history of allergy to gonadotropic medications (hormonal preparations obtained from the placenta of pregnant women or from the urine of postmenopausal women).

Ovarian cyst/enlargement

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients having an enlargement of the ovary which is caused by reasons other than poly-cystic ovarian syndrome.

Abnormal uterine bleeding

This medicine is not recommended for use if you have/had an episode of abnormal vaginal bleeding and the reason is not determined.

Tumors

This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a tumor of the pituitary, adrenal, or thyroid glands indicated by increased secretion of hormones.

Sex hormone related tumors

This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a tumor caused due to an excess of sex hormones in the body.

Primary ovarian failure

This medicine is not recommended for use in women who have age related dysfunction of the ovaries indicated by high levels of follicle stimulating hormone in the body.

Pregnancy

Use of this medicine in pregnant women is not recommended.

Breast-feeding

Use of this medicine by women who are breastfeeding is not recommended unless absolutely necessary. Special precautions should be taken while taking this medicine and breastfeeding should be discontinued during the course of treatment. Consult your doctor and discuss the risks and benefits before deciding to take this medicine.
General warnings

Prostate cancer

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients having prostate cancer or androgen-dependent tumors. A thorough examination should be performed before therapy with this medicine is commenced.

Hormonal disorder

This medicine should be used with caution in patients having hormonal imbalances caused due to abnormal functioning of thyroid, pituitary, or adrenal glands.

Ovarian cyst

This medicine should not be used by women having an ovarian cyst or enlargement of the ovary. The symptoms could get complicated and could lead to a rupture in some cases.

Excessive vaginal bleeding

This medicine should not be used in women who are experiencing abnormal vaginal bleeding due to undetermined cause.

Other diseases

Report any instances of bleeding or clotting disorders, asthma, and other obstructive diseases, a heart or blood vessel disorder etc. to the doctor. Use of this medicine may worsen the symptoms of these diseases and hence caution is advised.
