Description
Halostrol-F Cream is a combination of Ulobetasol and Fusidic acid. It is used for the treatment of skin infections. Ulobetasol prevents the formation of certain chemical substances in your body that are responsible for redness, swelling, and itching. Fusidic acid works by stopping the growth of the infection-causing bacteria and preventing bacterial multiplication. Halostrol-F Cream may cause burning sensation, itchiness, redness, irritation, etc at the site of application. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen. Halostrol-F Cream should be applied topically on the affected part of your skin as directed by your doctor. Continue using the medicine for the prescribed duration to reduce your risk of re-infection. Halostrol-F Cream should be avoided if you are allergic to it. This medicine is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are planning a pregnancy, consult your doctor before using this medication.

Antibiotic resistance

Antibiotic resistance is a condition where infection-causing organisms develop the ability to defeat the effect of drugs designed to kill them. Hence, to avoid such resistance, you should always complete the entire course of treatment with Halostrol-F Cream as prescribed by your doctor.

External use only

Halostrol-F Cream is meant for external use only. Avoid contact with your eyes. In case of accidental contact with your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. Seek immediate medical help in case of accidental ingestion.

Other medicines

Halostrol-F Cream may interact with other medicines meant for topical use. Concomitant use of this medicine and other topical medicines on the same area of skin should therefore be avoided. Inform your doctor about all the topical preparations (ointments/lotions/gels) that you may have been using to avoid undesired side effects.

Use in children

Halostrol-F Cream is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age due to a lack of safety and efficacy studies.

Use with caution

Caution is required when applying Halostrol-F Cream near eyes or on eyelids, as cataracts or glaucoma (a condition of optic nerve damage due to high fluid pressure inside your eye) may result if this medicine repeatedly comes in contact with your eye.

Cushing's syndrome

Cushing's syndrome is a condition with high levels of cortisol (steroid hormone) in your body. Symptoms may include the presence of a fatty hump between your shoulders, a rounded face, stretch marks on your skin, that may be pink or purple in colour, bruises on your skin, etc. Halostrol-F Cream may increase your risk of Cushing's syndrome. Inform your doctor if you experience such symptoms while on treatment with this medicine.

Halostrol-F Cream is meant for external use only. Use it as directed by your doctor. Close the cover of the tube immediately after use to keep it clean and free from contamination. Do not wipe or rinse the tip of the tube. Use Halostrol-F Cream at around the same time every day for the ease of remembrance.
