Description
Floatin 20 MG Tablet is an antidepressant medicine that contains Fluoxetine. It is used to treat depression and other mental health conditions such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (a condition of unwanted thoughts and repetitive behaviours that you feel compelled to perform), panic disorder (feelings of fear, rapid breathing, and fast heart rate), etc. This medicine works by increasing the levels of serotonin (a chemical substance in your brain) that helps in stabilising your mood and feeling of well-being. Floatin 20 MG Tablet may cause some common side effects such as headache, nausea, decreased appetite, restlessness, nervousness, dizziness, sleepiness, sweating, etc. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms persist for a long time or worsen. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. Floatin 20 MG Tablet can be taken with or without food or as prescribed by your doctor. Take it at the same time every day for the ease of remembering. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor as it may cause withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, sleep disturbances, irritability, etc. To avoid these symptoms, gradual dose reduction is necessary under your doctor’s supervision. Floatin 20 MG Tablet may not be suitable for all people. Inform your doctor if you have diabetes, liver problems, a history of seizures, or glaucoma before taking this medicine. Allergy

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors are a class of medicines used to treat depression. Floatin 20 MG Tablet is not recommended for use if you are on treatment with MAOIs due to the increased risk of serious side effects. You should maintain a time gap of 14 days between the intake of this medicine and MAOIs.

Floatin 20 MG Tablet is not recommended for use during pregnancy unless necessary as it may harm your foetus. If you are pregnant, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Breast-feeding

General warnings

Suicidal thoughts

Abnormal bleeding

Floatin 20 MG Tablet may increase the risk of bleeding. Hence, it should be used with caution if you have an active bleeding disorder or if you are taking medicines like NSAIDs (class of medicine used to relieve pain), Aspirin, or Warfarin as it may further increase the risk of bleeding. Report any unusual bleeding or bruising to your doctor immediately.

Changes in weight

Floatin 20 MG Tablet may result in weight loss due to loss of appetite. Hence, close monitoring of body weight is recommended during the treatment with this medicine.

Driving or operating machines

Floatin 20 MG Tablet may cause dizziness, visual disturbances or impaired judgement. If you experience such symptoms after taking this medicine, avoid driving vehicles or operating machines.

Hyponatraemia

Hyponatraemia refers to low levels of sodium in your blood. Floatin 20 MG Tablet should be used with caution as it may increase the risk of hyponatraemia especially if you are taking diuretics (a class of medications that increase the removal of water and salt from your body through urine). Your blood pressure and sodium levels need to be closely monitored while taking this medicine.

Missed Dose

Do not skip any dose of Floatin 20 MG Tablet. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to compensate for the missed one.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose. Contact your doctor in case of an overdose of Floatin 20 MG Tablet is suspected.
