Description
Dynapres 0.4 mg Capsule contains Tamsulosin used in men to relieve the symptoms of benign prostate hyperplasia (enlargement of the prostate gland located below the urinary bladder). The symptoms include painful urination, difficulty in passing urine, and urinary urgency or frequency. This medicine does not decrease the size of the prostate gland. Dynapres 0.4 mg Capsule shows side effects like dizziness and erectile dysfunction (inability to get and maintain an erection firm enough for sex). It may cause dizziness in some people, so avoid driving vehicles or operating machines if you feel dizzy. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or worsen, seek a doctor's consultation at the earliest. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Dynapres 0.4 mg Capsule can be taken with food. You should not stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor as it may worsen your symptoms. The course of the treatment should be completed for better efficacy of the medicine. Dynapres 0.4 mg Capsule should be used with caution if you have any eye condition. General warnings

Hypotension

The use of Dynapres 0.4 mg Capsule may cause vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) and hypotension (low blood pressure) especially orthostatic hypotension (drop in blood pressure when you stand up from a sitting or lying position) causing dizziness, lightheadedness, and palpitations. Your doctor may monitor your blood pressure closely while taking this medicine.

Glaucoma/Cataracts surgery

The use of Dynapres 0.4 mg Capsule increases the risk of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (phenomena affecting cataract surgery). People undergoing cataract and glaucoma surgery should inform the surgeon about the current or previous use of this medicine to make appropriate changes in the surgical technique to reduce the risk of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome.

Women and children

Dynapres 0.4 mg Capsule is not indicated for use in women and children.

Driving or operate a machine

The use of Dynapres 0.4 mg Capsule may cause symptoms such as blurred vision, dizziness, drowsiness, etc. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving or operating machines if you experience any of these symptoms.

Priapism

Dynapres 0.4 mg Capsule may rarely cause priapism (a very painful erection) that may not subside. Seek immediate medical attention if this happens. If priapism is not treated, it may lead to impotence.

Missed Dose

If you missed a Dynapres 0.4 mg Capsule dose, make sure that you remember to take your next dose when it is due. Do not take two doses together to make up for the missed dose.
