Congestyl Syrup is a combination medicine which may be used for the temporary relief of a runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose, itchy throat, sore throat, etc. caused by conditions such as a common cold, allergic rhinitis, and other upper respiratory allergies. It also relieves nasal congestion.

How it works
Phenylephrine acts by reducing the swelling of the blood vessels in the nasal passages, making it easier to breathe. Chlorpheniramine blocks the action of certain substances produced by the body which induce allergic reactions. Paracetamol increases the pain threshold and decreases swelling. It also brings down elevated body temperature by acting on heat regulatory centers in the brain. Menthol causes a feeling of coolness and also reduces itching and pain.
