Description
Adfovir 10 mg Tablet is an antiviral medicine used to treat chronic hepatitis B virus infection. This medicine is not a cure for the Hepatitis B virus. It only prevents the virus from multiplying in your body. Close monitoring of kidney function is advised during treatment with this medicine. It is not recommended for use in children less than 12 years of age.

General warnings

Exacerbation of Hepatitis

Some patients may experience an acute exacerbation of hepatitis after discontinuation of Adfovir 10 mg Tablet therapy. Close monitoring of liver function is advised for up to several months after discontinuation of therapy. Resumption of the therapy may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Renal dysfunction

Adfovir 10 mg Tablet should be used with extreme caution in patients with renal disease due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Renal function should be assessed before initiating the treatment. Appropriate dose adjustments should be done based on the clinical condition of the patient.

HIV Resistance

This medicine should be used with caution due to the risk of HIV resistance in patients with unrecognized or untreated HIV infection. Patients should be screened for HIV antibodies before initiating treatment with this medicine.

Lactic Acidosis

This medicine should be used with caution due to the increased risk of lactic acidosis. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor immediately. Appropriate corrective measures and dose adjustments may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Missed Dose
