Description
Aceret 25 mg Capsule is a retinoid (vitamin A derivative) used for the treatment of psoriasis (a skin disorder caused due to rapid buildup of skin cells leading to scaly, itchy, and dry patches). This medicine works by slowing down the growth of the skin cells. Aceret 25 mg Capsule may cause side effects like nausea, headache, back pain, joint pain, nosebleed, peeling and dry skin, taste change, hair loss, etc. Consult your doctor if these side effects bother you for a long time or become severe. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine as it can cause decreased night vision. Aceret 25 mg Capsule is a prescription medicine. Take it with food for better effects. Take this medicine at the same time every day to maintain a constant level in your body. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor, as your symptoms could reoccur or become worse. Aceret 25 mg Capsule is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it or have severe liver or kidney problems. Inform your doctor about your health problems and current medications before starting the treatment. This will help your doctor to adjust your dose to avoid undesired effects. Allergy

Severe kidney impairment

Aceret 25 mg Capsule is excreted via the kidney and may get accumulated in your body if your kidneys are not functioning properly. This can increase the risk of severe side effects. Hence, this medicine is not recommended for use if you have severe kidney problems.

Severe liver impairment

Aceret 25 mg Capsule is not recommended for use if you have severe liver problems as it can increase the risk of liver toxicity and cause further liver damage.

Tetracyclines

Combined use of Aceret 25 mg Capsule and Tetracyclines (a class of antibiotics) is not recommended as it may increase your risk of developing pseudotumor cerebri (a condition that occurs due to high pressure around the brain, causing vision problems and headaches).

Severe hyperlipidaemia

Aceret 25 mg Capsule is not recommended for use if you have severe hyperlipidaemia (increased levels of fats in the blood) as it may further worsen your condition.

Aceret 25 mg Capsule is unsafe for use during pregnancy as it can harm your developing foetus.

Breast-feeding

Aceret 25 mg Capsule is not recommended for use while breastfeeding.
General warnings

Liver impairment

Aceret 25 mg Capsule is broken down in the liver. It should be used with caution if you have liver problems as it may increase the accumulation of this medicine in the liver leading to toxicity. This medicine may cause an increase in liver enzyme levels and swelling of the liver. Therefore, your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your liver function while you are taking this medicine.

Skeletal abnormalities

Aceret 25 mg Capsule should be used with caution if you have bone disorders, as prolonged use of this medicine can result in excessive bone growth. Your doctor may recommend replacement with other medication in such cases.

Driving or operating machines

Aceret 25 mg Capsule may cause blurred vision in some cases. Hence, avoid performing activities such as driving vehicles or operating machines during treatment with this medicine.

Use in children

Aceret 25 mg Capsule is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age as the safety and efficacy data is not available.

Women of childbearing potential

Women of childbearing potential are advised to use two effective forms of birth control beginning at least one month prior to starting treatment with Aceret 25 mg Capsule, during the treatment, and for at least three years after stopping treatment with this medicine. Aceret 25 mg Capsule may cause serious birth defects in the foetus if taken during pregnancy. If you are planning a pregnancy, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Aceret 25 mg Capsule as soon as possible. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose

Never take more than the recommended dose of Aceret 25 mg Capsule. Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose.
