Besides his specialist training (CCT) in Psychiatry, in 2014 he was awarded Distinction in MSc Clinical Neuropsychiatry by University of Birmingham, UK.
During his career, Dr Bhandari has regularly received complements from patients and carers for his ability to empathise with them, understand their concerns and develop a structured, evidence-based, treatment plan to manage their illness.
Dr Bhandari has been involved in several research projects in the last 10 years. Until 2022 he was Chief Investigator for a Phase II research trial in UK and Principal Investigator for two Phase III research trials. Also, he was Medical Education Tutor and Education Supervisor for medical trainees.
For his leadership and management skills, Dr Bhandari was awarded “Innovation prize” by the South-West division of Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK in 2012. In 2018 and again in 2022, he was awarded Clinical Excellence Awards in recognition of his contribution towards the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care.
