She has done her M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from the Institute of Psychiatry, Kolkata and her PhD in Clinical Psychology from NIMHANS (Institute of National Importance), Bangalore. She is also registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India.
She is thoroughly trained in various forms of psychotherapies and has treated individuals with a variety of mental health concerns. She is trained in Mentalization Based Treatment approach (basic level) under Prof. Anthony Bateman, Anna Freud Centre, London and in Schema Therapy from the Schema Therapy Institute, Australia. Further, Dr. Priya also underwent a 6 week long training in trauma-informed psychotherapy with Anaahat Psychotherapy, Mumbai. At present she is undergoing training in EMDR therapy from the EMDR Association, India.
Further, it is important to highlight that as a clinician she is LGBTQ Affirmative and trauma-informed.
