Ms. Amrita Chakraborty

Amrita is highly experienced therapist. She is is very friendly and compassionate and she can establish rapport with the patient very fast. She is helping my son, who has been suffering from psychotic disorder, to a great extent. I strongly recommend her.

She is fantastic as a Physiologist. I was under going with matrimonial problem. But she handles the situation such way with her vast experience, kind of spot on. The suggestion she given to me was always impactful to overcome the situation. I will truely thankful to Amrita Mam. I was going thru a problem of excessive fatigue through out the day resulting into excessive sleepiness during the day time even after adequate sleep. I used to feel extremely tired all the time. It's going on for 6-7 yrs now. I had consulted many doctors and they did all kinds of experimentation on me. But instead of solving my problem, the problem kept aggravating. In the process, in late 2020, I got diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. The doctors said that start using CPAP machine. You will start improving within 3 months. Nothing happened even after 1 year of using the machine. Then the problem started aggravating so much that I was struggling to focus on my daily work. If I tried to focus for 10 minutes on my work, I felt restless. I started loosing on memory as well. I kept searching for options what to do. Then as a last resort I thought I should talk to someone to check whether my lifestyle is the issue and something needs to be done. It is when I came across Ms Amrita Chakraborty.

She listened to my problem with lot of patience. She also shared with me with her initial assessment and started suggesting me with small changes in my habits. And the best thing about her suggestions were that they easy to implement and not a pain in itself. She didn't stop any of the continuing treatment I was going thru. With those small changes, I started to improve. But few weeks down the line, it deterioted again.

This is when she told me something. She said that you have been following diligently following your doctors so far without questioning them. There is some physiological issue which is stopping you from improving. Now, you need to even show the courage of deciding what treatment you should follow and which one you should not. Don't allow yourself to become a Guinea pig. A game changing suggestion. I asked her for suggestion. She said try Homeopathy instead of Allopathy and referred to me to Dr. D.N. Banerjee. And she put on hold our sessions for few weeks. After I consulted Dr. Banerjee, within couple of weeks, I started getting significant improvement. I am getting good refreshing sleep which alluded me for last 5 years. I am feeling much fresher during the day. I am able to work now much longer, getting back the interests which I lost in last 1 year.

I am now really hopeful that with Dr. Banerjee's homeopathic treatment and Ms Chakrabarti's behavioural therapy, I will get back my lost Mojo. I really don't have appropriate words to thank her enough for helping me out. Thank you so much M'am.

I didn’t have high hopes from an Indian therapist, but I was pleasantly surprised by Ms. Amrita’s insight into my problems. She is one of the few persons in my life who understood my situation and correctly identified the root causes of my problems while patiently listening to my troubles. Her kind, non-judgmental, empathic nature and welcoming personality put me at ease immediately and we had extremely friendly sessions that didn’t feel like a client-therapist relationship for once. The fact that she holds her face to face sessions at home instead of in an office setting is one of her USPs. I could only manage 4 sessions with her due to paucity of time. I hope to continue my sessions with her in the future, this time online. While I am capable enough to solve my problems myself, I needed an outsider’s perspective on my issues and the pearls of wisdom that she dispensed have helped enhance the quality of my life. One might need to modify the strategies and advice she provided as she spoke from a very urban Indian context and I am based in Canada where life is totally different and involves a lot of complexities & hardships. But even then, I feel grateful to her for believing in me & lending me a patient ear instead of dismissing me like my own family members. That in itself felt therapeutic and erased part of my heart ache. Her professional opinion also confirmed the strong suspicions I had regarding something, adding to my mental peace. What I found most refreshing was that she was honest enough to point out certain aspects of my personality on which I need to work in order to improve my communication skills. I would gladly recommend her to anyone who is seeking advice, guidance, counselling or a little direction in life. Best possible location in South Calcutta. Kind, compassionate, thoughtful, supportive, friendly - she is everything you can look for in a therapist. From the very beginning of our sessions, she made me feel comfortable, welcomed and listened to which eventually made our sessions easier. Her sessions feel like catching up with a friend/guardian rather than having an appointment with a doctor. And her nonjudgemental approach made it very easy for me to share things that I thought I can't share with anyone else. I'll definitely recommend her to anyone in need.
