He completed his MBBS at a very young age of 22 years from Calcutta National Medical College with awards and distinctions in Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Pathology. He then worked in IPGMER (SSKM Hospital) Kolkata as a Junior Resident (DPM Trainee) at the Institute of Psychiatry. He then completed his MD (Psychiatry) from the prestigious LGB Regional Institute of Mental Health, Tezpur, a 336 bedded Tertiary care Psychiatry Hospital (A Centre of Excellence, awarded by GoI) directly under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, with distinction. He also did a Certificate course in Addiction Medicine from NIMHANS, Bangalore (An Institute of National importance). He also underwent special training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from NIMHANS, Bangalore and a certificate course in Cultural Psychiatry in Chennai under BALM-University College London. He had underwent intense and comprehensive training in Sleep Medicine, from Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun, the largest tertiary care referral center of Uttarakhand and one of the very few accredited Sleep Medicine training centers in India. He subsequently topped the International Board Certification in Sleep Medicine, conducted by the World Sleep Federation. He also passed the International Certification in Addiction Medicine Examination held by the International Society of Addiction Medicine based in Canada.He is also well endowed in research work, having been awarded the prestigious ‘Short Term Studentship’ on a project on HIV/AIDS epidemiological study by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Govt. of India, whilst in MBBS. Subsequently, he received a prestigious research award along with International travel Grant for his MD Thesis on Psychoneuroimmunology from the Dept. of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, which was subsequently published by the prestigious Journal of Neuroimmunology (Elsevier). He has presented many research papers at various state and national conferences and has many publications in various National and International Journals of repute. He is also a reviewer for many prestigious International journals in the fields of Psychiatry and allied sciences.

This man changed the way I used to look at life . I can assure you that if you people are suffering from substance abuse then this person is your go to. I visited many doctors and even underwent a rehabilitation program before I met him. I owe my life to this person else i would have been lying dead on the streets somewhere causing an immense grief to my family . It's been 6 years since i underwent treatment under him and finally have got my mind straight and focused. Words would fall short for me to describe his contribution in my life. Peace out.

A great doctor. Takes time to listen to patients, explains your options, and what is best for you. Tries to get things done with as less medication as possible. In waiting rooms, I have even heard patients say how S. Das helped them sleep peacefully by prescribing something other than sleep medication, which is habit-forming. Would really recommend S. Das to everyone. However, you should have realistic expectations and give time (multiple sittings) to notice results with treatment. This is true for any psychiatrist.
I was suffering by opioid addiction since 2014. I met Dr Das on Nov, 2017 for first time. Earlier I visited many Doctors but anyone can't give me proper solutions to get rid of from opioids. Dr. Das listen my problems and prescribed optimum medication. Now I am totaly cured and free from opioids. Dr Das is a very good psyco consultant, reads the patient very carefully and co operates maximum with them. His assistant person is not so good as previous. Hospitality should be maximum at any helth care centre.

My experience with Dr. Sourav Das was very bad. He was impatient and did not give me the opportunity to explain my points - and also evaded some of my important questions. He just pushed towards getting the meeting over quickly.
