Ahmed Dental College and Hospital, University of Calcutta, Dr. Shaon Mukherjee pursued her career to achieve her M.S. in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology from the University of Iowa (U.S.A.). She is one of the few privileged professionals to have been under the supervision and guidance of one of the pioneers of Dental Radiology in the USA, Dr. Axel Ruprecht.
During the span of these three years, apart from studying Dental Radiology, she was exposed to various aspects of Medical/Head and Neck Radiology and got extensive training in CT scan, MRI and USG modalities. The concept of Cone Beam Computed Tomography was already making a mark in dental treatment planning in the USA while extensive use of conventional CT scans to plan dental implant studies were in vogue. This gave her a hands-on experience in the use of CT scan in dental treatment
