I do not recommend this doctor.

I had visited the doctor with my partner today. This is the second time he is seeing her and has spoken highly about her since he has seen visiting her. I was surprised several times throughout the interaction with her.I had visited the doctor with my partner today. First of all, she told my partner that she wouldn't have changed the medicine had she been aware of the fact that there would be a change in his workplace. I find it difficult to accept that a doctor would make a statement like this. If he was aware of a change, would he not have anyway informed her? Next, one of the solutions given to my partner to one of his problems was to move out or asking another family member to move out as easily ** * ******* ********* ***** *** ******* ** **** *** * ************* ** * ******* ********* ***** *** ******* ** **** *** * ************* ** * ******* ********* ***** *** ******* ** **** *** * ************* What surprises me is that she was talking about a) a huge move that would inevitably create problems and add on to my partner's stress (he did mention that his mother wouldn't be okay with it) b) and as lightly as if it could be easily done over the next few days. Forget a doctor saying it, frankly, I wouldn't expect any person who can think logically would be providing such a difficult solution to a person looking for help ASAP I was there all the while, unacknowledged by her. It was quite evident that I would be either a family member or the partner. That isn't even the issue. I let her interact with my partner uninterruptedly. He had missed mentioning a point or two. We were discussing and he asked me to tell her the ones I was talking about. But she dismissed those by rudely saying that she is unwell and if we could discuss those the next day. This matter, you may say, is subjective. Regarding my taking a leave if I was unwell, I was actually on leave and came to the clinic only for your patient because he needed urgent help. I expect you would have seen that there were no patients before and after you left. When I asked you if the point about the patient's problems at his home could be discussed at the next visit, I was coughing continuously and you should have had the sense to see that I was breathless and not in a position to talk. If it was that important to you, you should have clearly said that you will wait outside till I stop coughing and then talk to me. But you kept on speaking without even noticing how sick I was. Being a professional does not mean one stops being a human being.

You also forgot to mention that I DID NOT TAKE ANY FEES for the consultation.

Regarding asking about the change at workplace, yes, I wouldn't have changed the patient's medicines had I known that he had just got a new boss a few days back. I understand that such a change can be very stressful for a patient and would have gone extra slow with the change in medicines.

Regarding moving out, yes, I did ask the patient why he hasn't considered moving out if he so many problems at home. That doesn't mean that I ordered him to pack his bags and leave the house immediately.

I took the time to discuss the patient's problems at home and workplace knowing fully well that it was not at all required for prescribing medicines. I did it because I care for all my patients and want them to have a happy and healthy life.

I have talked to the patient after going through the review and was told he was neither aware of what you have written nor does he share your opinion. It is the appreciation shown by people like him that gives me the courage to keep trying to help people. Otherwise I would have quit long back since there are a lot of people who can't ever be satisfied.
