The best gift I got in my life is, I have found Dr. Shumayou Dutta and his priceless consultation.

I was suffering from low back pain for the last 5,6 years. For the first few years pain is limited in between the lower back of the left side. The pain increases if I walk too much, then after rest pain decreases. Also, the pain increased after 1hr lying in bed but in the morning pain decreases.

I have visited several doctors in Kolkata private and government hospitals, orthopaedic, physiotherapist, and neurologist, all doctors misguided me, someone said I have to operate because my nerves are bulging due to L5 over S1, and some doctors give me painkillers.

Dr. Shumayou's technique of treating a patient is very different, he listened to my history and told me after the first observation that the pain is not coming from nerve bulging. He told me to start the diagnosis from the beginning and ask me for some blood tests, MRIs. After checking the reports he confirmed that the disease is ankylosing spondylitis. He described the decease to me and suggested that this disease's main treatment is exercise and suggest me to consult me with a Rheumatologist.

This is during my recovery from fractured tibia & fibula of my left leg from accident, in the 2nd week I have noticed that I have numbness in my right toe and having difficulty in pulling my ankle upward accompanied with radiating pain from lower back down to my right leg till toe (seems sciatica). My friend and I were having backaches where my friend was already diagnosed with spine stenosis in 2012. i didn't know that a spine surgery existed as an independent speciality from orthopedics or neurosurgery. he was recommended to me by a relative who was very satisfied with his treatment. numerous visits to doctors who recommended me to wear a belt had made me dependant on it and back pain was always present.
