He was awarded Membership of National Academy of Medical Sciences in Orthopaedics in 1982 and became Diplomat National Board in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in 1984. Later in 1986 he was awarded the Fellow of International College of Surgeons. He joined the faculty as Asstt. Prof. in Deptt. of Orthopaedics G.S.V.M. Medical College, Kanpur in Dec. 1980 and after 23 years of distinguished service, he took voluntary retirement from service in Nov. 2003.
Having the advantage of looking much younger than many of his students, Dr. Rastogi has several papers published in national journals to his credit. He has been the Guide and Examiner for M.S. & Diploma Orthopaedics for many years. He has special interest in Advance Trauma Care, Deformity correction and Joint replacement. He has been the organising force behind many successful Orthopaedic & IMA Conferences, last one being the highly appreciated IMA CGP Refresher Course 2004-05. He is a member of many International & National Orthopaedic & Allied Specialty Organisations including holding many prestigious executive posts. He has also been awarded many International Fellowships over the last two decades. Besides attending International Conferences & Workshops regularly, he has been invited as Guest Faculty to deliver lectures at many national workshops & conferences.
In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Rastogi is very humane. He is a member of many NGOS' & has been associated with many charitable organisations to give relief to the disabled specially Hemophilia, Cerebral Palsy & poor sections of society. He has been striving to give respectful living to the polio affected patients by conducting completely free post polio surgical operations which has benefited hundreds of patients in the last 10 years & made them fit to walk on their feet & live with dignity.
