Mental health issues are very common among all age group in society. One person out of four is suffering from mental health problems. For a proper and clear diagnosis, we spend enough time to counsel people involved to reach at a tentative or definite diagnosis. We stress on diagnosis because it will explain all aspects of illness like nature, needs of treatment, investigations, management plan (pharmacological and non-pharmacological), duration of treatment, need of rehabilitation plan, course and prognosis. While treating a patient, our principle is to maintain patients on minimum possible medications and follow evidence based practice for which Dr. D. S. Poonia thankful to the pioneer institute of our country, AIIMS, New Delhi for his training and experience.
