From the desk of Admin, Dear Mr. Kunal, We regret your unfortunate experience. After enquiry, your appointment was scheduled at 4..30 pm with the hospital and the doctor had seen you at 4.35 pm. Hence there was no delay as claimed. It appears that you have walked in without any previous reports as requested by your doctor nor have you brought the previous prescription - hard copy on which the doctor writes your history and notes leading to diagnosis and other important information. Without these, it is difficult for the doctor to recoup information about the client. A simple snap shot may not be sufficient and will not give the doctor confidence of delivering the right treatment which is paramount of a dedicated doctor. Then it was also noted that you were late by 15days for the scheduled appointment and had taken extra doses of medications beyond the doctor's prescribed duration. It is illegal for the pharmacist to dispense medications beyond the prescribed duration and the doctor is not responsible for any medication related events if taken beyond the prescribed duration. Yes, EMR/EHR are gradually making inroads. But they are time consuming and are cost consuming and will increase the burden of cost to the client but yes they will do away with clients carrying prescriptions, reports, films, and 'forgot to bring', lost, destroyed in fire, water, lost during shifting homes etc reasons. And the doctor would have the history, notes etc on his device and there will be no misses. A doctor tries his best to be cost efficient to the client while being constrained for time. A client has to understand this and try to co-operate with the doctor for his best time utilisation. There is a lot of criticism regarding doctors on phone during consultation. Either the doctor is driving and cannot pick up calls as it is illegal and several doctors have been fined by traffic inspectors though they are genuinely on call with a patient or emergency calls. If the doctor is in clinic, he would be with a patient. So, would patients kindly suggest at what time should doctor answer patients calls or at what time should patients call the doctor. Because there is no answer for this problem but complaints are galore about doctors answering calls of other patients while seeing another patient.
