His post graduate training included a surgical internship and residency at J.J.M.Medical college, a three year General Surgery Residency Programme after his six year bachelor’s programme in medicine and surgery. After graduating from residency, he moved to Hyderabad where he started General surgery private pratice with a multi-speciality group. He also joined as Assistant professor of surgery in Deccan College of Medical sciences for a period of two years continuing his private practice. He had built a very successful General Surgery practice at Yashoda Hospital, Hyderabad, but after two years, he developed a yearning to learn Minimally invasive surgery and worked with various Laparoscopic workshops. Thus he built again a very successful Laparoscopic surgery practice at Yashoda Hospital including all advanced procedures. After five years, he once again developed a yearning to learn more and decided to undergo further training and thus worked with Dr.Raul Rosenthal, Cleveland clinic, Weston, Florida, which is a center of excellence for Bariatric surgery. Now he is one of the pioneers in bariatric surgery in India and has built successful Bariatric practice after starting Leads Medical Center, with multi speciality group at Hyderabad, India. He has 15 years of experience in advanced Laparoscopy inclusive of 7 years of Bariatric surgery and the percentage of practice of Bariatric surgery is 75% of his surgical practice.
He is very passionate of advanced Laparoscopy offering Laparoscopic fundoplication for GERD, Laparoscopic Hernia repair, Single incision Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, Laparoscopic spleenectemy, Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal oncosurgery, Laparoscopic Right/Left Hemicolectomy and many other procedures.
Dr .Y. Krishna Mohan is a certified Surgical Gastroenterologist and Bariatric Surgeon. He continued his accomplishments when he became a fellow of the association of surgeons of India and also fellow of International college of Surgeons , U.S.A. He maintains several affiliations and memberships including the society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), Endoscopic & Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA), Indian association of Gastro intestinal Endo Surgeons (IAGES), Association of Minimal access surgeons of India (AMASI), obesity surgeons society of India (OSSI) and many more. He is invited faculty for several surgical workshops.He is also the National Executive committee member of OSSI.
