Dr. Vikas Gowd is one of the Indian to be conferred expert in implantologist by the(BDZI EDI) European Association of Implantologist BDCI EDI. He also holds the honour of having conducted clinical study of bone regeneration from stem cells which were differentiated into osteoblasts along with RE GROW.
A further specialization in Prosthodontics allowed for several people who lost teeth in accidents had their teeth replaced either fully or partially. “Now, we have implant dentures where there is no pain and the patient can chew normally”, days Dr. Gowd, adding, “We also have maxilla-facial prosthetics where if there is loss of any part of jaw due to burns or injury or cancer we replace it with correct matching material”, demonstrating the leaps dentistry has made in the past several decades.
Dr. Gowd is now actively pursuing stem-cell banking. “Stem cell banking is a recent revolutionary treatment not only in dentistry but also in other medical fields. In dentistry, we can remove stem cell from milk teeth of a person and in future we can make natural teeth from the stem cell”. Even as the research is not complete, Dr. Gowd’s visionary zeal has made him prepare for the future.
Dr. Gowd also runs a school for dental implants where they run certified courses affiliated to international organizations.
