He is in possession of a Fellowship and Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery and Robotic Surgery. He has a Gyan Burman Fellowship in Hepato-biliary and Pancreatic Surgery from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. He holds an M.Ch in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi.
He has undergone training in ear reconstruction under Dr. Satoru Nagata from Nagata Ear and Plastic Surgery Clinic, Saitama, Japan.
He is a Member of the Surgical Team that performed the first 3 Bilateral Hand Transplantations in India. He is also a Member of the team that performed the first Tracheal Transplantation in India (Second in the world).
He has several publications on various topics in plastic and reconstructive surgery in both national and international journals. He is also credited with devising an objective grading system for ear reconstruction which is the first of its kind in the world and was published in the Indian Journal of Plastic Surgery. He is also associated with modifying the Thiel embalming technique for optimising cadavers for medical education in tropical weather conditions.
He has done extensive research on adipose derived stem cell enriched fat grafts and the effect of external volume expansion on them which won the best research award from the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India. This research was also published in the Indian Journal of Plastic Surgery.
