I graduated from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and SUNY, Stonybrook from 1983 to 1986. My thesis work involved cloning and study of lung cancer gene k-RAS which paved way for development of drug trastuzumab used in treatment of breast cancer. As a faculty at Stonybrook University I taught Human Genetics to MD students. Further, I did Post-doctoral research at Department of Medicine at Stonybrook University.
After returning to India in 1987 I set up meldical practice. I am interested in treating difficult to diagnose or chronic cases. As part of this endeavour I learnt artificial intelligence and use these widely for solving difficult cases. I developed Physician Assistant Artificial Intelligence Reference System (PAIRS) for which I have a copyright (SW-7539/2013). I was selected for FICCI India Innovation program (2006). As part of this I was trained by faculty from IC2 at University of Texas at Austin.
Important milestones in my career include working at CSHL (1983-84) along with scientists James Watson and Barbara McClintock (both Nobel Laureates). I gave Telemedicine as a technology demonstrator to Dr. Abdul Kalam (then principal scientific advisor) to Prime Minister at Care Hospital (Banjara Hills) Hyderabad. Presently I am pursuing my research in molecular / clinical medicine using new AI techniques with potential application to covid-19 and solving mis/missed diagnoses."
I am passionate about treating patients keeping conscious of health and economic burdens faced by most of our community. Our focus is to gain as much health information as possible.
