I was in terrible pain due to constipation and anal fissure for the past 2 and a half years. I had been to several doctors in the city, who, after examining my condition, almost all of them, most often prescribed lifestyle changes, local applicants,fibre supplements and laxatives. I followed their advice and made efforts to relieve myself of the trauma that i was facing for years. But, all my efforts (2 and a half years long) went futile and i kept suffering. I lost out on several aspects of my life. Even though i was aware of Ananya gastroenterology (Dr. Ananda Kumar' clinic) for 6 to 7 months or so, i didnt visit the clinic as i almost lost faith on medicines and doctors by then.

Last month, as my endurance levels fell flat, i decided to visit one last doctor, i had not visited so far, Dr. Ananda Kumar garu. As i did, i was impressed with the poster (on the door of the doctors room) in his clinic. It is mind blowing specially for hypochondriacs like me. Instantly, i decided to keep my issues to the point when i met him. As i entered his room, his warm smile greeted me and i started to feel the positivity already. He diagnosed my condition and prescribed anal sphincterectomy procedure as the one stop solution for my problem (as all other ways of dealing with the issue failed). He was very confident of the positive effects of the procedure on me. I was relieved and scared all at one go. But just like any other patient, upon my worried queries about the procedure, post op pain and recovery, he patiently explained the procedure in detail and assured me of the betterment of my condition post op. He did tell me that there would be pain at the site of op until the op wound heals just like any cut or wound on the body after which with medication and a healthy diet i would progress well. He also gave me moral strength with examples of the indian army and asked me to fight the fear out of me and to bravely face the postop pain which would last for just a few days. His words gave me a lot of strength. The op was scheduled after a week.

On one hand, I was happy that i was going to get rid of the constant trauma in a week and on the other i was apprehensive, feared the procedure and the probable after-effects. Finally the d day arrived, i told myself that when he undoubtedly believes that i would be fine after the procedure, i must trust his decision too. I kept my fear at bay, blindly trusted the doctor, underwent the procedure (lasted for less than 10 minutes) and the magic followed.

The medicines prescribed provided relief from the moderate discomfort (while defecating) in the first week after which i was doing well. It took 15 days for me to recover (i also made sincere efforts by maintaining my diet, taking medicines as prescribed and regularly attending reviews) and today am doing absolutely fine. I am grateful to Dr garu for giving me a new lease of life. I have promised myself to respect my body, live a healthy lifestyle, live my life to the fullest and a meaningful one.

Dr garu is more of a friend to me than just a doctor. Just as his name 'Ananda' goes, he is surely spreading positivity and smiles on millions of faces. Thank you Dr garu for your care and concern. Just keep going.

Advice for a lot of people who are suffering like i did- Just visit the doctor once, express your issue openly, follow the doctors advice in word and in spirit and voila! you will be surely relieved of your issue. Have faith in the doctor and in yourself. Dont loose hope. Wishing u a speedy recovery and a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Ananda Kumar is a doctor with a human touch. Just speaking to him itself is half the cure. Dr. Ananda Kumar is not new to me nor did I come to know of him recently. He has been my doctor since the year 2008 when I was diagnosed with a 2 Kg mass (fibroid) in my abdomen. That was when I came to know him in the Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda. I was under treatment by another doctor and came to know of him providentially. My surgery which was a 2 hour procedure actually went on for over 5 hours. This was because the doctor who was treating me was stuck in the middle of the procedure and she made an emergency call to Dr. Ananda Kumar who was at the time at Secundrabad and after having a hard day already was preparing to go home when my doc sent out an SOS to him. Dr. Ananda Kumar did not give excuses as tired and exhausted as he was, but just rushed from Secundrabad to Somajiguda Yahaoda and completed my surgery by 4.30 pm. That was my meeting with Dr. Ananda Kumar and I remain thankful to God and to a doctor like him and will recommend him to others. That was not all, in 2014 I visited him again in Sunshine Hospital, Secundrabad as I had some gastro problems and it turned out to be gallstones. Again by the grace of God and with Dr. Ananda Kumar's charisma, talent, dedication he guided me, performed a successful laparoscopy and I am happy once again. Dr. Ananda Kumar is not only a great doctor but also a great orator and dedicated person with hard work and a lot of experience. This I know of as he visited my school and was the Chief Guest for our Independence Day Celebrations where he spoke to our children and told us how he strived hard and achieved his goals and aspirations. Dr. Ananda Kumar is definitely a doctor who knows and understands his patients and is and expert in his field of concentration, a great doctor with high values, qualifications and a wonderful human being. Another instance is about one of my boys who suddenly developed a fever and it was Dr. Ananda Kumar who very ably guided me in his case to find the cause of his fever which was leukemia (Blood Cancer) and get the correct treatment and timely help. My boy today is well by the grace of God and all the help and guidance of Dr. Ananda Kumar and I will always remain thankful and grateful to both God first and Dr. Ananda Kumar.
