Traditionally, we have been a population that visits dentists ONLY when we have a dental issue; and prevention-based dental care was unheard of. This was one of the main concern for team EviDent - to create an awareness about prevention-based dental care.EviDent - short for Evidence-based Dentistry, was founded in 2010 by a team of specialists to improve awareness, dental care delivery and develop positive dental attitudes among people. It was founded on 3 core principles - 1. Evidence-based dental practice - Rather than "formulaic" treatment for traditional problems, evidence based dental practice helps customize treatment protocols based on the individual patient needs and therefore helps in delivering better dental healthcare.2. Sound Scientific Knowledge - Dentistry is currently evolving at an alarming pace. Developments in dental material science, technology and research have paved way for its progress. The team of doctors at EviDent are constantly updating their knowledge by participating in state-level, national and international dental conferences and also publish scientific literature and add to the international evidence-base.3. Total-Patient Care - Rather than looking at a "tooth", we treat the dental problem taking into account the individual patient. Many systems are inter-related, and therefore we identify and refer our patients to other medical specialists such as Gastroenterologist, ENT etc as and when required. Also, the same patient may require multiple dental specialists due to the nature of their dental needs. Rather than a single dentist performing all the procedures, our specialists discuss the treatment needs and plan the treatment as a team. This enables better dental care delivery to our patients. Our practice is also designed with the patient in mind - our environment is nothing like a 'regular' dental clinic. we understand that a typical dental clinic is associated with a lot of anxiety - something that we never wanted!
