Constipation is an unbelievably common problem these days. Constipation is a condition where in the hard and dry bowels are difficult to pass. Constipation is indicated by less than three bowel movements per week. Constipation is a symptom and not a disease.

Mentioned below are the few natural ways to get relief from constipation:

Keep yourself hydrated

One of the major reasons for constipation is your body being dehydrated for longer hours. It is necessary to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day to avoid being unhealthy. Switching to sparkling water from normal tap water would be more effective at relieving constipation. Sparking water is actually carbonated water. One must understand not to start drinking more carbonated drinks like sugary soda, as it would be a bad choice for your health and may make your constipation worse.

Try skipping dairy products

In certain situations, a dairy intolerance can cause constipation due to its effect on your gut movements. Sometimes children intolerant to cow's milk protein and adults with lactose intolerance may experience constipation. If you think that you may be intolerant to dairy, then you could try removing it from your diet temporarily to see if it improves your symptoms. One could replace the dairy in your diet with other calcium-rich foods.

Eat Prunes

Along with fibers, prunes contain the natural laxative sorbitol. This is a sugar alcohol that has a laxative effect. Prunes and prune juice are often considered as nature's remedy for constipation. A regular intake of 7-8 medium sized Prunes, which is approximately 50 grams twice a day would help in better results in relieving constipation. Prunes can be a very effective remedy for constipation.

Stay active by exercising

Studies have shown mixed results on the effect of exercising regularly on constipation. Though there are not many interesting results in the frequency of bowel movement, but exercising has significantly reduced symptoms of constipation. If one is constipated, then try going for regular walks. It's definitely worth a try.
