Here are 12 tips to live a healthier life:

  1. Drink more water: Water is needed to carry out our body functions, remove waste and carry nutrients and oxygen around our body. Since we lose water everyday through urine, bowel movements, perspiration and breathing, we need to replenish our water intake.
  2. Get enough sleep: When you don’t rest well, you compensate by eating more. Usually it’s junk food. Also, lack of sleep causes premature aging.
  3. Eat more fruits and vegetables: Like fruits, vegetables are also important for the well being of our health.
  4. Exercise regularly: Research has shown that exercising daily brings tremendous benefits to our health, including increase of lifespan, lowering risk of diseases, higher bone density and weight loss.
  5.  Pick bright colored foods: Fruits and vegetables with bright colors are usually high in anti-oxidants. Anti-oxidants are good for health because they remove free radicals in our body that damage our cells. So get your fill of fruits/vegetables of different colors. 
  6. Eat small meals: Choose several small meals over a few big meals a day.
  7. Include complex carbs in diet e.g. brown rice, whole grains, etc and cut down the simple carbs like white rice, white bread etc.
  8. Improve your posture: Good posture improves your breathing and makes you look smarter and more attractive.
  9. Cut down on processed food: Processed foods are not good because:- Most nutritional value is lost.- The preservatives added are bad for our health.
  10. Cut out sugary and oily foods.
  11. Cut out soda and caffeine and Don’t drink alcohol. 
  12. Don't smoke and avoid taking stress.
