We use whatever skin product they (Celebrities) say to use, but the result is always a sorry state.Have you ever wonder why you are not getting that flawless skin as promised in the skin products ads? It’s because you are not doing things the right way.You will have to take care of your skin religiously and follow this regimen daily, but the result would worth all the effort. Here are some useful and easy things to do, to get healthy, glowing and beautiful skin by going natural.These guidelines are the basic steps one should follow to get healthy, glowing and younger looking skin irrespective of the skin type (Oily, Dry, and Combination).

1: Detoxification or Detox:

In a nutshell is, the elimination of harmful toxins from the body. Over a period a lot of toxins get accumulated in our body, which hampers the proper working of organs (Intestines, Kidneys, Liver and skin).We are focusing on the herbal and natural way of Detox, including herbs, fruits, juices etc.

  • Morning Detox recipe:

Make a morning Detox drink by blending 2 tsp of lemon juice, 1 ripe banana, some raspberries, some spinach, 1 tsp flax seeds, 1 cup warm water, some nuts. Take this smoothie daily on empty stomach.

  • Green Detox recipe:

Add 1 green cucumber (without seeds) ,some celery , Fresh coriander ,one cup Kale leaves, 1 lime juice, almond milk , some green apples and nuts, blend in a blender. This skin detox smoothie will glow your skin.

Following are some food items you can switch and turn to make your Detox smoothie as you like.

Seasonal Fruits: Pineapples, mangoes, apples, bananas, blueberries, raspberries.

Vegetables: spinach, kale, cucumbers, celery, fresh coriander.

Other Ingredients: Coconut water, almond milk, Cayenne pepper, flax seeds, green tea, sea salt or Epsom salt, warm water.

Detox Bath: Add Neem, Epsom salt, Eucalyptus oil, Peppermint oil, Tee tree oil, Lavender oil to the bath water. This bath eliminates the toxins out of the skin and fight against skin infections.

2: Skin Nourishment:

Healthy skin and body needs good nutrition, if there is any malnutrition or disease it will have an impact on skin and complexion. In most cases secret to a healthy skin is a healthy and disease free body. Here we are focusing on food rich in skin nutrition.

Herbal Teas:Use herbal teas like green tea, lemongrass tea to get the healthy and glowing skin. You can also make green tea extract, cool it and use it as a facial spray or freeze it in the cubes to rub on the face and eyes.

Ingredients: Honey, egg whites, milk, Grounded walnuts, fuller’s earth (Multani mitti), oatmeal or whey protein powder.

Recipe: Whisk egg whites in a bowl, add cold milk while whisking the eggs, and now add fuller’s earth, grounded walnuts, oatmeal or whey powder to make a paste of firm consistency. Apply this to the face for 10 minutes to half an hour. Rinse with water. It provides the necessary protein for the face skin.

3: Exfoliation:

Exfoliation means removal of dead skin which is clogging the pores of the face.Use homemade scrubs to exfoliate the skin because harmful chemicals present in the cosmetic scrubs make the skin dull.

Exfoliation schedule: One should exfoliate according to the skin type.In most cases, normal skin needs exfoliation 2-3 times a week.Dry skin needs exfoliation once in 2-3 weeks.Oily skin needs exfoliation 2 times a week.Combination skin needs exfoliation 2 times a week and sensitive skin needs exfoliation once a week.

Exfoliation scrub recipe:

Ingredients: Baking powder, sugar, sea salt, oatmeal, yogurt, grounded walnuts, rose-water.Add baking powder, sugar, sea salt, oatmeal, yogurt and grounded walnuts to a bowl and add dribble rose-water while mixing the ingredients to make a scrub paste. Use this scrub to exfoliate the dead skin.

4: Hydration:

Drink at least 8 glass of water a day to keep the skin cells hydrated and toxins out. Lack of water causes dryness, dullness and wrinkle prone skin.

5: Improve skin circulation:

Proper Blood circulation in the face is vital to give oxygen and nourishment to the skin.The best Facial Exercise is Laughter and smiling .It improves the blood circulation in the face and releases the feel good hormones (endorphin) which results in a healthy and glowing skin. Cleansing recipe:Ingredients: Lemon, coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, gram flour, turmeric cucumber, rose-water.

Add gram flour, lemon apple cider vinegar, pinch of turmeric in a bowl while dribbling the rose-water. Apply as a paste and rinse off after 10-15 minutes. This will clean the face thoroughly.

Toning:  Toning is getting the skin ready for the next step that is moisturizing. It removes the possible remaining dirt after cleansing, restoring the natural pH of the skin. It reduces the large skin pores so that oil and dirt does not clog in the skin pores.

Toning recipe:Ingredients: Green tea extract, Apple Cider Vinegar (Organic), Aloe Vera Juice.Make green tea extract by boiling  green tea for 5 minutes and allow it to cool, add apple cider vinegar and Aloe Vera juice, store it in the plastic bottle.  Use it to tone the face with sterile cotton ball.

Moisturizing: It is the process which prevents the skin from dryness. It helps the skin to keep up its softness and glow.

Moisturizing recipe:Ingredients: Avocado or ripe banana, milk cream or yogurt, Jojoba oil or lavender oil, Vitamin E oil.Add mashed avocado or ripe banana to a bowl add milk cream, Jojoba or lavender oil and vitamin E oil and blend it in a blender to make a smooth paste. Apply this to the face evenly and rinse off after 15-20 minutes.

7: Protection:

It is very important to protect your beautiful skin from U.V rays of the sun as well as dirt and pollution. Use a good quality sun screen with S.P.F>30.Choose the Sunscreen lotion according to your skin type. Cover your face and body when travelling through dust and pollution.
