PRP therapy is a therapy in which growth factors derived from the patients own blood are injected into the scalp for hair growth. In this therapy, blood is withdrawn from the patient and transferred to a test tube. This test tube is then put in a centrifuge and after an adequate spin, blood and plasma are separated. This plasma is rich in growth factors. This plasma containing growth factors is then loaded into syringes and injected appropriately into the scalp of the patient to reach the roots of the hair. This enhances the growth of the hair and is a useful therapy in patients with severe hair-fall.
