Ovarian ageing is defined as the low ovarian reserve or a low number of good quality eggs.  As the age of women increases the egg reserve declines. Early ovarian ageing may be determined genetically but the factors such as smoking, taking alcohol and other drugs also plays a significant role. Earlier the women in the age of Forties are found with the low ovarian reserve but nowadays, due to careless lifestyle has dropped this maximum age criterion for a low ovarian reserve to thirty.

Signs and symptoms: Causes of premature ovarian failure are similar to those of going through menopause and are typical of estrogen deficiency. And the symptoms include irregular or skipped periods (amenorrhea), which might be present for years or develop after a pregnancy or after stopping birth control pills.
