We have almost started entering the winter season. And as the weather is transiting, there’s a necessity to take care of our children’s health as they are the most susceptible to seasonal illnesses especially cough and cold.

To keep your children healthy during winters, here are a few tips you should follow:

1. Wash Hands Properly

Our hands are from where all the pathogens enter our mouth and respiratory tract. Kids should be taught to keep their hands away from their face. They should be taught proper techniques to clean hands and how frequently it should be done. Also, encourage your kids to use hand sanitizers whenever water is not available.

2. Proper Winter Clothes

Children are notorious for showing tantrums while dressing up during winters. It is important to keep their ears, neck, and chest covered to avoid catching a cold. Make sure they wear a cap, socks, and muffler while they go out as viral infections grow faster in cold environment.

3. Balanced Diet

It plays a very important role in keeping away cold and flu during winters. Their diet should be full of vitamins and minerals to increase their immunity. Serve them more with green vegetables and fruits that are full of vitamins and antioxidants to keep their body strong and disease free during winters.

4. Vaccination

It is a good idea to get a flu vaccine shot before the starting of the flu season to avoid getting ill. It is especially important if your child is weak or has low immunity or if you are travelling to a flu-prone area. Consult your vaccination doctor about the vaccines and doses available for the same, based on the age and immunity of the child.

Most of all don’t ignore small infections. If your child is suffering from fever, or even cold, take them to your nearest clinic that offers specialised treatments for kids.
