Realizing that neurosurgery demands expertise of a very high order, Dr. Rajan underwent a number of advanced neurosurgery fellowships with leading surgeons in USA, UK and Mumbai. This has been interspersed with independent cranial and spine surgeries at various hospitals during and post this period.Dr. SK Rajan is currently the chief spine surgeon and head of the department of neurosurgery at Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, New Delhi. At this hospital, Dr. Rajan has been responsible for many noted accomplishments. He is credited with being among the first surgeons who performed artificial disc surgery, dynamic lumbar implant placement and minimally invasive spinal tumor surgeries (miss) in the region. He is also recognized for tripling the number of spine surgeries performed and adding credibility to the department by guiding its transition from a sub-speciality to one being run by a full-time faculty.Prior to his current position, Dr. Rajan served as consultant neurosurgeon & assistant professor at the department of neurosurgery, VM Medical College and associated Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.
