He is a clinical fellowship trained surgeon with fellowships in Minimal Invasive Urology (Robotic Surgery) and UroOncology. He brings in vast experience in the field of advanced robotic surgery and treatment of urological cancers in a minimal invasive manner from topmost national and international institutes. He holds to his credit a one year clinical fellowship in Robotic Surgery. He also holds to his credit a fellowship in UroOncology from Mie University Japan and has undergone advanced robotic urology training (Ob. Fellowship) from University of Miami, USA along with training in HIFU (high intensity focused ultrasound) for prostate cancer.
Dr Ahluwalia is one of the few fellowship trained robotic surgeons in India. His clinical practice is mainly driven by his perseverance for providing high level of care to patients with urological cancers. He is currently instrumental in setting up robotic surgery program in various centers in India and has mentored robotic surgeons by performing robotic surgeries for urological cancers. He has to his credit experience of more than 600 robotic surgeries as a console surgeon including but not limited to robotic prostatectomy, robotic partial nephrectomy, robotic assisted radical cystectomy. He has performed more than 1000 minimal invasive procedures for urological cancers including laparoscopic and endourological surgeries besides conventional open uro-oncological surgical procedures.
His passion about research stems from from his belief in the importance of applying evidence based practice in urologic oncology and robotic surgery. He is extensively involved in research and has published several articles in national and international journals.
