He then joined the Indian Army as a Specialist Surgeon and in addition to serving the Nation received valuable experience in handling trauma and emergencies. While in the Army he has served at Base Hospital, Delhi as well as at the 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar, J&K.
He has trained and been certified by the IMMAST Institute, Mumbai in Minimally Invasive Proctology and Laser Proctology. His certification has been further endorsed by the Royal College of Surgeons, England.
