She completed her MBBS from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, MD in Internal Medicine from the Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences and DM in Gastroenterology from the M S Ramaiah Medical College. She has a Diplomate of the National Board (DNB) in Gastroenterology, an MBA in Hospital Administration and a Post graduate in medico legal ethics from National law school. During the nascency of her career, Dr. Shivalingaiah served first as an Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology at Sapthagiri Hospital and then practised at the MS Ramaiah Hospital, Bangalore, both in India. She then worked at the NH Multi-speciality Hospital as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in India before moving to the UAE. Dr. Shivalingaiah is a member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, the United European Gastroenterology (UEG), the World Endoscopy Organization and the Emirates Gastroenterology Organization.
Her expertise covers the entire gamut of Gastroenterology including therapeutic endoscopy, ERCP, GI bleed control endoscopic procedures, gastric balloon, IBD - UC and Crohns, manometry, GERD-acid reflux endoscopic procedure, endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty, EUS, endoscopic foreign body removal, capsule endoscopy, endoscopy and colonoscopic polypectomy, ERCP Stone retrieval, ERCP stricture dilatation, biliary/ oesophageal/colonic metal stent placements and GI cancers. She is proficient in treating fatty liver through fibroscan, IBS, gastric ulcers and hepatitis.
