He is certified by the German Board of Plastic Surgery (Facharzt), the European Board of Plastic Surgery (EBOPRAS) and the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH). He is a member of the Emirates Plastic Surgery Society (EPSS) and the Emirates Chapter of Hand Surgery. Besides this, he is a regional faculty for the AO Society and a trainer for Allergan Medical Aesthetics.
After graduating from medical college, Dr. Alawadi was appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi. Later, he established a unit for Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery at Rashid Hospital in Dubai, which became the leading centre for hand surgery and reconstructive microsurgery in the whole of UAE. He became the Head of the Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery unit at Rashid Hospital trauma centre and also the Director of Surgery.
