He completed his MBBS and Diplomate of National Board which is equivalent to an MD from Kerala University in India. He went on to acquire several qualifications like FRCOG, FRCS from Edinburgh, and FRCPI and Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training from Ireland. He is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Royal College of Physicians Ireland, Maastricht University in the Netherlands and University College Dublin in Ireland.
Dr. Thomas specializes in urogynaecology and aesthetic gynaecology, having spent 25 years as a consultant in Ireland, professor and chairperson at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, and as a visiting urogynaecologist and aesthetic gynaecologist, at Doha in Qatar. He has successfully treated conditions like urinary incontinence, and pelvic organ or uterine prolapse through sacrocolpopexy and sacrohysteropexy. He is an expert at performing different types of labiaplasty like Trim, Wedge and Redo, and various kinds of perineoplasty and vaginoplasty to correct deformities of the vagina and the anus. He uses the minimally invasive TVT-O (Tension Free Vaginal Tape Obturator) surgical procedure as well as Bulkamid injections for the treatment of urinary stress incontinence.
