Dr. Sahrkaw Azat Muhyaldeen

Dr. Sahrkaw Muhyaldeen is a UK-trained Consultant Cardiologist in Electrophysiology and Device Therapy.He practiced as a Consultant at Manchester Heart Centre/Manchester Foundation Trust since 2008.His main areas of interest are the management of different types of abnormal (slow and fast) heart rhythms, including arrhythmias in congenital heart disease. He is also an expert in implantation of different types of cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators.He graduated from Mosul Medical School which was followed by general medical training in Iraq and the United Kingdom.After completing his general medical training, he underwent extensive speciality training in general cardiology and sub-speciality of electrophysiology and device therapy.His cardiology training started at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee/Scotland, followed by completing the West Midlands cardiology SPR rotation/Birmingham/UK including a research fellowship at Good Hope Hospital / Birmingham/UK.During this post, he investigated the utility of CRT in patients with Heart Failure.After completing his training in 2008, he was appointed as a consultant cardiologist in electrophysiology and device therapy at Manchester Heart Centre/ Manchester Royal Infirmary/UK.His extensive training and experience in general cardiology and sub-speciality of electrophysiology and devices started at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and followed by completing the West Midlands Cardiology SPR rotation, including a research fellowship at Good Hope Hospital investigating the utility of CRT in patients with heart failure.Dr. Sahrkaw has 16 years of experience as a consultant cardiologist.He is a nationally and internationally renowned specialist in electrophysiology and devices therapy.Furthermore, he works at a service lead at one of the largest EP centers in the UK.He has substantial experience in service development, research, and teaching.Dr. Sahrkaw is an experienced speaker at national and international congresses.
