She completed her MBBS from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan and a Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterologists (MACP).
Dr. Zaman started her career as a Senior Registrar of Gastroenterology at the Services Hospital in Lahore. She then turned to medical teaching and joined as an Assistant Professor in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore. Simultaneously she worked as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. She also served as an Associate Professor of Gastroenterology and a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Ameeerudin Medical College, Lahore and Lahore General Hospital. She was actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in gastroenterology and worked as a supervisor for gastroenterology trainees. Subsequently, she relocated to the UAE and started working as a Specialist Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Interventional Endoscopist at Burjeel Speciality Hospital, Sharjah.
Dr Zaman is an expert at procedures like upper endoscopy (EGD), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), capsule endoscopy, PEG tube insertion, variceal ligation, sclerotherapy and advanced therapeutic techniques including polypectomy and stricture dilation. She manages all types of gastrointestinal (GI) disorders such as GERD, IBS, IBD, pancreatitis and celiac disease. She has successfully treated patients with conditions like hepatitis, cirrhosis, NAFLD, SIBO, Barrett’s oesophagus, acute and chronic blood loss, diarrhoea, constipation, fatty liver, hepatitis, jaundice, cirrhosis, autoimmune liver diseases, pancreatitis, biliary strictures and pancreatic cysts.
She conducts oesophageal, gastric, intestinal, pancreatic, and liver biopsies, and colorectal and pancreatic cancer screening. She believes in the importance of patient education on diet, lifestyle and medication management, the development of individualised treatment plans for chronic GI diseases, post-procedural follow-up and long-term care coordination. She is involved in interdisciplinary collaboration with dietitians, primary care and other specialists and does case consultations with surgical teams for GI surgeries.
