He completed his MBBS from the Government Medical College, Alappuzha, Kerala, India and his Diplomate (DNB) in Neurosurgery from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, India. He went to Japan for his Fellowship training in Interventional Neurosurgery from Fujita Health University, Japan, under the world-renowned Interventional Neurosurgeon Dr. Makato Negoro. He has also undergone extensive specialised training in microsurgery of the brain and spine, skull base surgery and also minimally invasive spine surgery, endoscopic procedures and pain management training.
