Meeting Ruchika Ma’am in life is one of the best things that has happened to me and I am happy that I happened to stumble upon her profile on Practo and chose her as my clinical psychologist. Ma’am is really a rarity among the mental health professionals because of her awe-inspiring knowledge and skills in the arena of clinical psychology, the way she listens to her clients exuding a great deal of patience and compassion, explaining to her clients as to what the issue is and she accordingly designs interventions which aims at symptom reduction by attacking the root cause in order to avert a possible relapse and she strives towards optimizing their psychological well-being and overall functioning. Now, what is so striking about her is, she is someone who is very honest and fair in her dealings with people which makes her a highly reliable person and a competent mental health expert. This quality of hers laced with her skills and knowledge in clinical psychology sets her apart from the others in the industry. The way she dealt with me in a friendly yet professional manner by having some faith in me and by making me feel that I too am a human being with some value and worth was really so encouraging, re-assuring and motivating. Finally, coming to me , I her client is someone who is a survivor of depression and social anxiety feel relatively better and have finally won some respite after undergoing treatment from Ma’am for the same. I was someone who was considered as merely inept in the past just not by the authority figures but also by my own family members due to my alarming levels of social anxiety which sort of took a toll on my overall-well-being and crippled my functioning specifically in the occupational domain. It was only Ruchika Ma’am who had some faith left in me and she really helped me with restructuring my thought patterns and taught me certain skills and strategies required to deal with my anxiety and lower the symptoms of depression effectively. According to me she is the kind of therapist that every psychologically distressed individual should seek and Ma’am will definitely be more than happy to help them. She has been treating me for the past 2 years, when I first went to her my symptoms were just too severe and disabling and now if I am doing well in life at the personal and most importantly at the professional level being a survivor of social anxiety it’s truly because of Ma’am and to top it all because of her faith in me and my abilities. Ruchika Ma’am is more like a “Ma” to me than a Ma’am because in my case when the whole world was against me because of my mental maladies just like a mother Ruchika Ma’am did not give up on me and leave me in the lurch, she stood by my side, gave me the needed strength and support every step along the way and fiercely protected me. I really commend her for her invaluable contribution towards the upliftment and betterment of mankind. May the almighty bless her and her family abundantly for the amazing work that she does and for positively impacting the lives of many like me. The world really needs people like her and may her tribe increase. Thank you so very much Ma’am.

She hears you out with amazing patience-even the irrelevant details about your life(which no one could care less about) and sometimes that is all you need, really! For someone you hear you out without passing any judgement.

She is super compassionate(will step out of her comfort zone to help you and try to look out for you- for instance you can email her or if the situation is VV bad, call/text her. I never used this privilege coz I respect her privacy and honesty, never felt the need to! But I appreciate her concern towards her patients)and I always felt like I could rely on her(this gave me immense security and confidence to do the things I was afraid of)

She gave me worksheets(which were useful) and helped me think more objectively and rationally about my issues.

Special mention for Ruchika's intern Sadhna- she was super sweet, friendly and helpful(tried her best to make me feel better), the grumpy cat Guna(I will miss bullying him), the didis and interns at the reception- they were all very sweet and made me feel comfortable.

I wish Ruchika can help and heal as many people as possible. It takes great courage and immense compassion to do what she is doing. I am forever grateful!

Caveat for people who are new to therapy: your progress depends upon yourself. Therapists are there to help and monitor your progress, but won't magically heal you- healing requires hard work from your side as well. So don't be to quick to judge your therapist. Incase, you feel uneasy/unsure/dissatisfied about something you can discuss it with your therapist- I can vouch for Ruchika(she will listen to your concern with an open mind)

I visited Ms. Ruchika for Counselling for Depression & Anxiety. I came in as a skeptical client who wasn't sure of the steps towards a solution, or if therapy would even work. In fact I was a client who couldn't even promise coming for regular sessions. However, Ms. Ruchika was extremely accepting and warm as a therapist. She respected my choices and made me understand what I was going through in a better, simpler way. I remember her explaining me the mind-body relationship, the parallel between physical and psychological problems and how it was okay to opt for medicines for mental health issues. I survived that phase, and looking back I realise how important a role psychologists like her can play in your life. And I hope others in need can seek help from dedicated professionals like her.
