Being very true to myself, Dr.Vishal is worth being a psychiatrist. And he is worth all the positive reviews. In my review, I would like to include somethings that I have learnt from my experience and I hope that it would help others in making a wise decision.I went through the negative reviews and I can say that they are not very wrong but at the same time, I can assure that they aren't correct either. It's just a matter of point of view and mismatch of tunning. As a patient, after having been to hundreds of doctors earlier, we form a preconceived notion about the new doctor without actually visiting him. And just after the 1st meeting, we start to judge the rapport between us and the doctor. I believe that the field of psychiatry is very different from other fields of medicine. Psychiatry deals with a person and the underlying chemistry as a whole whereas other fields treat a person as a machine with a chemistry. So, building a rapport becomes much more important for a good treatment progress. I believe that just one or two meetings aren't sufficient enough to judge any doctor or anyone in person. I had made the same mistake in 2016. But then by September 2018, I again visited him after roaming around to a lot of other doctors, and today I can firmly say that Dr.Vishal is one of the most empathetic psychiatrist I have ever met. I have been to almost all possible reputed psychiatric hospitals in India and I know that the words of mine about Dr.Vishal mean a lot, but they are equally true as well. Usually 1st or 2nd meeting goes in history taking and problem assessment, and so on. It's usually the patient speaking to the doctor most of the time, and I think judging someone by just 1st or 2nd meeting is too early. Many a times, after 1st or 2nd meeting, we feel dissapointed because majorly it's in a monologue form. But then slowly and steadily, as and when you get to know the approach of the doctor, you start building a good rapport with him because by the 3rd meeting the dialogue pattern starts. I firmly believe that Dr.Vishal can be of a great help to thousands of patients like me out there, provided we give him some time and atleast a few meetings before making any declaration. 1st or 2nd meeting would be too early to judge someone because most of the time we are biased with our preconceived notions. With time and efforts, you get to know and understand the doctor and speak up what you don't like or feel uncomfortable about his treatment modality in terms of you and that's when you open up about your problems even more. It helps even the doctor to understand you better and fine tune the treatment modality and plan as per your need and thought patterns. And slowly and steadily you start observing changes.I would only suggest that, have patience and with any doctor(yes, any doctor), before stopping his/her treatment, just pay him/her atleast 3 visits before deciding whether to continue with the treatment or not. And try being very open about anything that you don't find comfortable, either it be related to the treatment methodology or whatever. This time in September, 2018 when I revisited Dr.Vishal after 2 years (for I knew that he is one of the most empathetic psychiatrist I had met earlier) I narrated the reason because of which I stopped visiting him. And it was then that he gave me his point of view on my narration, and after listening to him, I can assure you that, I felt that it wasn't a wise decision of mine to stop his treatment in 2016 without actually getting to know his point of view. It's always better to make an informed choice. Before making a choice, one should know other's point of view as well, else we may miss out on something/someone very important without even realising the importance.I hope, my words would help others make wise decisions, unlike me.I hope this feedback would of help to other patients roaming around throughout India in search of the right doctor.
