We visited Dr. Pokhariyal for the first time when he was the head of nephrology at FMRI Gurgaon. Four months into our wedding, my wife was diagnosed with progressive kidney failure. As much as the news was devastating, Dr. Pokhariyal’s reassuring tone and friendliness helped us cope to a very large extent. It’s been more than 7 years since that day and during this time, we moved cities, got a transplant and blessed with a baby. Even Dr. Pokhariyal moved on to another hospital chain. What has been a phenomenal experience is that despite all the above, he has been guiding us throughout the years. We’ve not met him in ages, yet his humble, friendly tone combined with his professional expertise has helped us deal with many trying circumstances that life threw at us. We’ve met so many other doctor over the years, but for both my wife and I, Dr. Pokhariyal has been a true North Star. We are eternally grateful to him
