To start off, Dr. Omender Singh is an arrogant person - exactly the kinds you DO NOT want to be in charge of an ICU.

The patient was being observed by a gastroenterologist, a neurologist and a pulmonologist. Yet, Dr. Omender Singh and his team administered an "anti fungal medicine" which costs over Rs. 9000 for a 10 mg dose for a "suspected fungal infection" to the patient, who was doing OK at that time. Within hours of administering the medicine, the patient showed most of the symptoms that were listed under the side effects of the drug.

We got the medicine (and test reports) cross checked from senior doctors of AIIMS and ALL OF THEM DISAGREED on its usage. Yet, Dr. Omender never accepted his team's mistake. The patient developed low blood pressure, kidney failure, severe respiratory problems, high sugar levels and a number of other conditions that he had never encountered in his life!

When a patient is in ICU of a multi speciality hospital, it only makes sense for the doctors (Dr. Awantika and Dr. Akhilesh in this case, both of whom were in charge of the ICU at that time) to consult other doctors before administering a drug that can have severe side effects. It was never done and the patient passed away barely 48 hours after that.

Please avoid Max Super Speciality Hospital in general and Dr. Omender, Dr. Ashish Jain, Dr. Awantika and Dr. Akhilesh in particular if you want your patient to recover and live a healthy life.
