She passed MBBS from Guwahati Medicial College securing Gold Medal for 1st merit position, and MD also from GMC. She did Senior Residency (AIIMS Delhi), and joined as Assistant Professor(Obstetrician / Gynecology), (AIIMS Delhi) in 1988. Prof. (Dr) Dipika Deka is a pioneer in the super-speciality of Maternal-Fetal-Medicine in India, established the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Division, (AIIMS Delhi). Dr. Dipika Deka is one of the first persons in India to be trained abroad in Fetal Medicine, in UK and USA.
