Dr (Brig) Pankaj Puri is the Director of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Fortis Escorts, Okhla, New Delhi. An Alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. Dr Puri completed his MD (Medicine) from Pune University and DM (Gastroenterology) from PGIMER, Chandigarh. He has done fellowship in Liver Transplantion at Kings College Hospital, London,UK. He was earlier the Head of Department, Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Sciences, at the Army Hospital (Research Referral), New Delhi, where he was instrumental in development of a successful liver transplantion program. He was formerly Professor of Medicine at Delhi University and has also held the appointment of Professor and Head of Internal Medicine at Armed Forces Medical College Pune. He is serving as a Governing Council member for Indian National Association for study of Liver and has over 80 publications to his name.
After a bad experience at the liver department in Apollo Indraprasth, I visited Dr Pankaj Puri for my mother's liver issue after my husband's recommendation. We feel blessed to get a doctor like him. He understands the patient and educates them about the small little things that should be taken care of. We were very much worried before visiting him but he gave us a sense of relief and started my mother's treatment. He is very friendly and listens to every question that you ask and answers it patiently. While my mom went through so many tests including a biopsy, Dr Puri made the whole process smooth and kept assuring us. He respects your financial condition and suggests things accordingly. I feel my mom's liver and health is in safe hands. Nowadays it's very difficult to get a doctor like him. I will strongly recommend him for any kind of gastro or liver-related issues. I am so glad we found a doctor like him. I was facing some gastric issues and took his advice on it. I, my family and friends have decided to visit him for any kind of liver-related or gastro related issues without a second thought. Despite a very senior Doctor, he is an empathic listener, He uses a practical and friendly approach to listen to the patient issues and advise the treatment in the context of the patient's understanding of disease and lifestyle.
After consulting with him, I don't need Google anymore to read about my disease.

Visited the Doctor in first. A very sensitive and friendly person, I must say.
