I am feeling pain in my right side of jaw. Doctor says its because of the wisdom tooth. The problem with my wisdom tooth is thats its angular and pushing my last tooth upwards and creating pain. He says extraction is the only remedy. Now pain is propagating to my ears and its hurting a lot. Are there any complications?

Hello, you can do salt water rinses this will help you relieve your pain. get an an X-ray done. if the pain persists, consult to an Oral surgeon and get it removed.
HI, I am sure that you must be aware of what an impacted tooth is and what causes it.
Coming to complications, there can be few. 1) Radiating Pain in that region. 2) Swelling in the gums in that region, which can give rise to cheek Bite while eating. 3) In a severe case of swelling, you may be unable to chew properly. 4) As the wisdom tooth is angulated there always remains a small gap between that tooth and the tooth in front, generally what I have noticed is, patients find it difficult to clean that area as a result of which the front healthy tooth gets decayed and adds on to the pain. 5) swelling in that area can increase starts accumulating pus which can further worsen the condition
Next Steps
Visit a dentist , Get a diagnostic Radiograph done
Health Tips
wisdom teeth are generally removed in pairs . so if yo are getting the lower right side removed , also get the upper one removed , because that too is of no use .
Wisdom tooth or third molar are the most frequently impacted teeth which results in decay of the surrounding teeth due to food lodgement and decay. In your case as you have described here, your wisdom tooth is impacted(unable to erupt in its normal position)and causing painThe pressure created by wisdom tooth on adjacent tooth is the reason for the pain propagating to ears.there are no such severe complications related to wisdom tooth extraction, post extraction swelling and discomfort lasts for a few days and then everything becomes normal.post extraction medications will cover all the pain and swelling.
Next Steps
get an iopa x ray done before the extraction ,pre surgical tests are also necessary.
Health Tips
consult a maxillo facial surgeon or a dentist who can arrange one for you.
Wisdom teeth which are not oriented properly generally do not erupt and till the time they are embedded inside the bone do not cause trouble. Once a part of it erupts (and the remaining doesn't) they start causing trouble. The pain radiates till ear or till neck and till head for some patients. Recurrent such episodes might (quite rare) complicate by carrying infections to adjacent areas. Therefore get them removed though it is not an urgency. Current episode can be managed by antibiotics and painkillers.
Hi. Ur problem looks like it is because of the wisdom tooth. U can get it removed by an oral surgeon. There is no surgery without complications and they can all be prevented. So don't worry talk to the oral surgeon for any doubts.
Hi,Please get the wisdom teeth removed after xray as this is the best treatment for you as wisdom teeth will also affect the adjacent tooth.Meanwhile painkillers can be taken for pain relief.there are no complications provided xray is studied properly before tooth removal.
Hello,
If the wisdom tooth does not have enough space to erupt and is causing pain, then removal is advised.Get it done by an Oral surgeon.
