When is Risperidone given
On November 2015, I was prescribed Risperidone (Sizodon) along with Escitalopram (Nexito). I was not told anything about my  diagnosis. I checked a lot of places and another doctor that it's mainly for schizophrenia. Now, 2 days ago, I visited another Psychiatrist. She said I do not have schizophrenia. But I do exhibit a lot of so called negative symptoms of the disease and other people notice it. A lot. I am confused. Please explain. The attached photo is of the first doctors prescription.

Hello You are right that it's an anti psychotic or a medicine used in Schizophrenia. But at times it is also used in treating a person with Depression with obsessional thinking or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or even as a sleep inducer.... Later ones are just off label use but this is for your doctor to describe to you because he is the one who is observing ur symptoms and knows the rationale for using a particular medicine. We here at best will only  be predicting.
Next Steps
Please ask in depth questions about your treatment from your doctor. This is your right and prerogative. This is not disrespectful at all and any gud doctor will not get offended by that.
Health Tips
Don't use unreliable and unscientific sources on internet to arrive upon any conclusion not just about your health but any thing as such. Internet info is deceiving many a times.
