As such 8 kg weight at 1 year is fine . What is more  important is how the range of growth has been since his birth weight . In the first year a baby gains about  6 to 8 kg .   You should feed him normal food items that you and your family consume . Ensure good intake of proteins in the form of dals, egg , curds . Even chicken and fish can be added in case you take non veg. But as he is still small , you may need to make these foods softer so that they are easily chewable and digestible . Remember,  there are no superfoods or supplements that increase weight . This is a natural process . A well child plays , feels hungry , eats and grows .
