Weight gain
My 2 month baby weighs 4.88kg. His birth weight is 3kg. Doctor said he must put on the weight. I have increased my diet and drinking lot of water but still the same. He is breastfeed exclusively. Can i introduce one or two time formula milk??? Does it improve his weight??? He has been suffering from cough since last 2 weeks and currently taking medicines for that as prescribed by the doctor.

His weight gain is fine. Just ensure breastfeeding at regular gaps of atleast 2-1/2 to 3 hours, not sooner. If mild, avoid unnecessary medicine, just give steam inhalations for cold and cough and decongestant nasal drops for nasal block or increased cough on lying down. Use paracetamol for fever if required.
