Weight gain for 8.5month old baby girl
My baby girl is 8.5 months old and her weight is approximate 8.8kg. Her height is around 67cm. I wanted to know what foods can I give to my baby for her weight gain. My in laws are suggesting she looks too thin for a 9 month old kid. I am worried. She takes purées and formulas at a good rate. Her teeth are in progress. Can you please let me know if her growth weight is fine or is it less and how can I increase it. By what foods ?

Hi Her weight and height for age look satisfactory. As you have mentioned that her teeth have started appearing, she looks perfectly on the right track. Food wise it’s advisable to give her at least 3 solid meals a day. Idli, Pongal, dosa and rava Kichdi would be my Choices for breakfast. Rice with any dhal or non spicy gravy, curd or milk should be given for lunch, of course with one vegetable boiled and mashed. Idli, dosa or milk rice for dinner. Soup, apple, banana, boiled lentils Can be given for snacks. Milk should be given at least 3 times a day. And I hope she is crawling and sitting without support.
Next Steps
Continue feeding her as you have been doing. Check weight once a month.
Health Tips
Avoid junk foods and instant mixes

It's normal. Feed energy dense food items and weight is not the criteria for wellness.
Next Steps
check iron status after consulting online or pediatrician.

Please don't compare with other children , yr baby's weight if fine Ideal weight is not a fixed number there's  a range that's ideal as per her age. She falls within that range. Don't worry
