Weed consumption and social anxiety
I am suffering from social phobia or social anxiety. I visited a psychiatrist a month ago. He prescribed me two medicines a) Paxidep CR 12.5- (one after dinner) b) Melzap MD (0.25)(when anxiety increases too much). But I forgot to mention to my doctor that I consume weed almost twice a week. Please tell me whether I can continue that weed while taking those medicines.

I understand your concern. Weed / Cannabis has the ability to affect your nervous system and cause all sorts of problems including depression, anxiety, psychosis or even dementia. More clarity is needed regarding your problem to decide on the severity of your condition. Don't worry it is not your fault, it is the hormonal fluctuations in your brain which is taking a toll on your mental health. It is easily manageable with appropriate treatment, so that dysfunction due to the same can be reduced and your quality of life will improve. Some counselling sessions along with medical help might be useful for you. You should stop using weed anymore as well. I would also be more than happy to help you with that if you are looking for further online assistance. Discussions will be held confidential. You can directly consult with me through Practo as needed. Online chat consultation is available.

Hello You need to quit using weed or any other substance use as it can itself precipitate anxiety and is not good for health in general also.
